How to record rent when an agent has taken all the rent in fees (2.00)
Sometimes your agent will take all the gross rent for maintenance or additional fees. When this happens, your tenant may be showing incorrectly as being in arrears because there is no transaction to track (your agent hasn't sent you anything). All you need to do is record a manual transaction for the Gross rent and then another manual transaction (you may need more than one if your agent has taken funds for more than one reason) to cover the expenses. This way, not only do you keep your rent roll correct and up to date, but you also record the necessary transactions for your tax reporting too.
